Our Mission
The original mission of Brigade Pipes and Drums was to provide musical support and lend an air of dignity and decorum for the funerals of Brigade members. Firefighter Line of Duty Death funerals and memorials were soon added band's duties.
Parades, Inaugurations, Cultural Events and Competitions now round off a full year's worth of appearances for the Band.
The majority of the band members are paid professional firefighters from Boston and area fire departments. Band members all belong to our parent organization - The Boston Gaelic Fire Brigade. The Brigade's purpose is to further the cause of preserving our Irish and Gaelic heritage and culture.
The Band is a member of the North American Pipe Band Association as Grade V.
We were proud to accept the Cork City, Ireland's "Best Overseas Band Trophy", an official parade sponsored decoration, awarded by the Lord Mayor of Cork City, on St. Patrick's Day 1998.
Services provided for but not limited to:
Weddings, Anniversaries, Graduations, Retirements, Parades, Dedications, and Funerals.
One piper, the whole band, or any combination, available.
Contact band manager for information on price and availability of having pipers at your special event or occasion.
